“The Palestinian Youth Together for Change project launched three years ago by the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) led to the formation of the youth group Mitharkeen.

Baladna is pleased to share its new report "Sectarian Recruitment: Israel's Policies for Conscripting the Youth of Arab Palestinian Citizens". This report provides a comprehensive historical overview of efforts by the Israeli State to recruit Arab Palestinian youth into the military, including the Druze community, Palestine's marginalized Bedouin communities and the Palestinian Christian citizens. We are pleased to be able to announce the release of Baladna's Annual Activities Report 2014-2015. Over the past year more than 6720 youth have participated in our range of projects, while our videos, online pages and social media have reached over 250,000 youth, ensuring Baladna remains the leading independent youth organisation among Palestinian youth in Israel, and well-positioned to face the challenges of tomorrow head on.

Kayan Feminist Organization and Baladna Association for Arab Youth have conducted field work into the attitudes of Palestinian youth in Israel towards violence against women and the killing of women. The goal was to access concepts of violence and honor as perceived by Palestinian youth. The research was conducted by Dr. Suhad Daher-Nashef, Program Coordinator of Women’s Studies at Mada al-Carmel – Arab Center for Applied Social Research, and lecturer at Al-Qasemi and Oranim educational colleges.
